The Barn | Swanage

UX Architects were commissioned to transform an existing portal frame, storage barn into a three-bedroom family home. The clients had a tight timescale to obtain planning permission and cobstruct the disused structure into a functioning residential dwelling. The conversion sought to utilise the existing steel structure and construct the internal walls in timber frame to deliver the project within the timescales.

The existing barn was converted within 6 months into a 3-bedroom dwelling with a double height kitcehn, dining and living spaces that could be opened to the outside with large agricultural style openings that frame the surrounding views.
