UX Architects worked closely with heritage officers and Natural England to deliver a contemporary angular kitchen extension and renovation to an existing property within the Purbeck Ridge SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest). The geometric folding metal and glazed roof provides an exciting roof form which frames views across Swanage Bay. The buff facing brickwork was carefully chosen to reflect the exisiting stone features whilst creating a strong contrast to the existing rendered building. The cantilevered terrace and viewing platform provide cliff stability to the protected geological features within the SSSI.
