UX Architects have recently submitted a planning application for a cutting-edge ecohome. Located on the edge of the picturesque New Forest. This contemporary property offers sweeping views of the River Avon and the surrounding countryside. It enjoys a convenient location and is near a central market town.
The ecohome prioritises sustainability by using highly sustainable Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) or Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) panels. These are used for most of the construction and are recognised for their energy efficiency and minimal environmental impact. The exterior will feature ultra-high-performance black timber, a durable and aesthetically appealing sustainable material.
Key sustainable features include an electric solar panel array integrated flush with the slate-tiled roof. Complemented by a RidgeBlade wind turbine mounted along the roof’s ridge to generate renewable energy. The home will feature super-efficient triple glazing throughout to surpass U-Value requirements. Consequently, the south-facing balconies will include Photovoltaic Solar Glass. Further maximising solar energy capture and enhancing the home’s overall sustainability.
This project seamlessly integrates with the natural environment, reducing its carbon footprint and promoting eco-friendly living. By combining cutting-edge technologies with sustainable materials, this ecohome aims to set a new standard. It demonstrates environmentally conscious residential architecture in the New Forest.
